2010

September 26th

I want to thank everyone for working with me concerning the change of the race date for this race.  As it worked out, if we had stayed with doing the race on Saturday, everyone would have been miserable.  It was a hard rain all morning and not a safe way to go.  The police probably would not have let us do the bike portion of the race, so moving the race to Sunday worked out for everyone.  We had over half of the racers that were registered come to race, several moved over to the Super Sprint, and as I promised, all the people that didn't show up for the race can check out our 2009 and 2010 schedule and we will get you into the race you choose.  Just let me know when you decide.

This is a fun and challenging race that starts off with an .8 mile swim in our beautiful and clean Lake Chatuge.  You won't feel like you need to shower when you get out though, then its onto the lightly traveled roads for a 16 mile bike race that is a scenic tour of the North Ga. and Western NC mountains.  When you get back to the transition you get to enjoy a great 4 mile run that takes you along the campgrounds and across the Chatuge Dam that has 360 degree views that will make you wish you had a camera with you.

This is the kind of race venue that you may decide to bring the family to so that everyone can enjoy the day.  There is a children's playground right at the transition area and if you need a baby sitter to watch your kids when your competing and you let us know in advance, we have been able to get someone there to keep an eye on the kids.

All in all, this is a very fun, challenging and friendly race for you and your family to enjoy.  We offer a super sprint race the following day for beginners and seasoned racers to enjoy and end the weekend with a kids sprint triathlon that the whole family gets to enjoy.  So, if you are an Ironman or woman and still want to bring the less seasoned racer with you, we have something for everyone.

We hope to see you here.
