This is a really fun
course to do. It starts off at the Clay County Rec. Park, with a 4
mile run on paved trails that go along the side of Lake Chatuge and
through the camp area and dam and back. The bike course leaves from the
transition area and out onto beautiful country roads for 16 miles that
wind their way around the lake and foot hills of North Carolina and
North Ga. It's not like riding in the city where you're dealing with a
lot of traffic. This is country, and you'll love it. Then, we end the
event with a 2 mile paved trail run. The race starts at the
Clay County Rec. Park Hayesville, NC, but is listed on the Active.com
site as a GA event. The starting line is only 2 miles from the Ga
state line, and sense we get most of our racers from the Atlanta area,
we list our races as Hiawassee GA..
Thanks everyone for coming and doing the race with us; especially you folks from Clemson University. I know you didn't get a chance to celebrate your victory over U of Miami because you had to get up for the race.
